Owls for Baby

OK, so I've been working on a chevron quilt for a friend. She wanted an owl on it which I was a little hesitant about since I really don't do appliqué work.

So I've been telling a few of my quilting friends that I've never done appliqué. Well, I'm here to tell you that I lied. Not intentionally. Years, and I mean, YEARS ago my husband bought me a quilt pattern that he wanted me to make. Almost the entire piece is appliqué. LOL. The funniest thing is that it hangs in my family room and I see it every single day. I attempted another appliqué quilt a year or so ago. I used the wrong stuff and it was a complete mess. My owls are my first attempt since. This time I had the right backing.

Update for Friday, March 28th

Well, again I haven't been posting. I guess it's obvious that I enjoy quilting more than writing. I've been busy starting a lot of projects, not finishing them.

I come from a large family and when we have Christmas at our house we exchange gifts between the adults that are together for Christmas. This year I had one of my nephews name. I didn't have time to make a large quilt, but knew of a perfect wall hanging I could make him.

I found this quilt online that is called crossroads, I changed it up a bit and came up with this.
