I'm actually putting some projects together so that I have quilts to practice my free motion quilting.
Here are a few things I got started over the weekend.
This one is a an updated design from a previous post.
I loved these fabrics and found a way to make a great quilt out of not much fabric. I'm going to piece ivory solid fabric in between these blocks. I think I might actually keep this one.
It's funny, when I was putting this fabric on the design wall I was staggering them with the idea of trimming the columns and filling them in with the fabric I trimmed. Looking at it here I'm thinking I will leave it the way it is and just fill in with white.
This fabric is Reunion by Sweetwater Fabrics by Moda. I LOVE IT. I was going to just piece all the charm squares together but I really wanted to mix them up a bit. SO . . . I started out with four squares and cut the outside leaving a 5" four patch and then pieced what I cut around it. I'm going to fill this in possibly with white or maybe get one of the lighter reunion fabrics to fill in. I love the fabric that looks like jacks. I'm thinking about a boarder out of one of those. This is a very promising quilt in progress. "Messed up Reunion" I like the sound of that.
