More Free Motion Friday - Almost Caught Up

I'm trying to get caught up Motion Friday hosted by Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting! This has been the hardest one for me, so far. I had the hardest time getting it started. It looks more like a flower in the center. This one would take a lot of practice. The outside of this one started to work. Like I said, a little more practice and maybe it could work. Maybe. This first one is Leah Day's Stomach Lining.

And now the BRIGHT STAR
This one I liked, I guess because I thought it turned out OK, without too much effort.  Go to Fluffy Sheep Quilting to see more Bright Stars. First you see Leah Day's Bright Star. My fabric piece wasn't exactly square, but non the less OK. You can see her other designs at The Free Motion Quilting Project.

OK, I think that gets me all caught up until tomorrow. :)

Free Motion Friday / Oh, OK so it's Wednesday

I really do love that Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting started Free Motion Friday. I just can't seem to get caught up. This week was Leah Day's H20, her's looks great, of course.

Here is mine. Not great, but I'll take it.

NOW, to try to get caught up.
I do love doing these. They are pushing me NOT JUST TO WATCH Leah Day's videos, but to sew the new patterns as well. So, here is the Free Motion Project pattern Pine Needles.

And mine. I got a little confused at first, but . . .   Not my favorite. Good practice.

I still have a couple to upload. I'm trying to get ready for dinner tomorrow as well.

Small Brick Quilt

OK, so today was my daughter Sarah's LAST EVER High School swim meet. It was sectionals tonight. She swam her best time in the 100 free (58.33) and her best time in the 100 back (1:05.76). I only cried a little at her 100 back. She went in seated 9th and was in the first heat. When the race started the girl next to her was leading the whole way and was about a body length ahead of her. I couldn't believe it, she went in ahead of her and should have been beating her. In true Sarah form when she did her flip turn into the last 25 yards she came out of nowhere. It looked as though she out touched her but she lost by like a finger nail or something. So, she took 10th overall. She told us later that she started crying her last 25. :(
Her team came in second, but they all swam a great meet tonight. Very proud of them.

OK - back to quilting.

I think this was my first charm pack. I wanted to make something quick and easy and just loved these Andover fabrics designed by Kim Shaefer.

I also quilted the pieces with flowing glass by Leah Day.

More on Christmas Tree

I finished the quilting on my Christmas Tree wall hanging. I loved Star Flower Bands from Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting project and knew I needed to find a place to use it.  When I put up my flowers last week I had a comment that some of them looked like a poinsettia and I had to agree. I knew it would be perfect for this. So I put it around the border. I love it. Now I just need to finish the embellishments and I'm done. As you can see I'm still putting off the quilting on the pink and brown quilt. :)
